Commenting today on delays in transferring patents from ambulance Accident and Emergency Departments, Ravi Subramanian, West Midlands Regional Secretary said:
“Delays getting patients from ambulances into A&E departments are a sign of the huge pressures on every part of the NHS. This means patients having to wait longer for treatment and ambulance staff are prevented from getting back on the road to deal with the next emergency call.
“Working in such a stressful environment is taking a huge toll on ambulance workers’ health and many have left or are leaving as a result.
“The Chancellor must come up with the cash in next month’s budget to pay all public service staff a decent wage and resource the NHS properly or delays will only get worse, especially as winter approaches.”
