This is an introductory course to the role of the Branch Secretary. It will take place over TWO DAYS so you must attend both days to complete the course.
Day 1 – 18 September IN PERSON at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Birmingham
Day 2 – 1 October IN PERSON at UNISON West Midlands Regional Centre, Birmingham
The course will cover topics such as; areas of responsibility of the branch secretary, managing your workload, leadership and how to grow your branch, Case management system in the branch and tackling issues.
The aims for the course are:
- To develop an understanding of the role of the UNISON branch leader, in particular the branch secretary and assistant branch secretary.
- To consider the role of the UNISON branch leader in the current economic and political context.
- To develop ideas and strategies to build strong branch organisation.
- To reflect on how you lead a branch in changing times.
Please note there is a £30 per head branch charge for this course
