This course will:
- Be clear about what a stroke is, what causes it and the range of effects.
- Have considered the needs of people who have had strokes, their families, and friends.
- Be aware of the roles of different professionals and services available.
- Know about the range of communication problems which may be experienced by a person who has had a stroke.
- Have considered the personal social implications of experiencing such problems.
- Know about the sensory and cognitive problems which may be experienced by a person who has had a stroke and to know about the common psychological effects of stroke
