As I’m sure you are aware, 2024 has been designated as the Year of the LGBT+ Worker and will be marked by a number of events across all levels of the union throughout the year. To assist with the launch of this, the Regional Education Team has organised a number of training courses on “How to be a Good Trans Ally.”

The course will be delivered by a staff member and a lay trans/LGBT+ activist. The key themes covered include:

  • To Identify the role of a trans ally and why it’s needed
  • To explore UNISON’s definition of transgender
  • To examine what you can do to be a good trans ally
  • To know where to find resources and support

This course is free for UNISON members
